Maybelline Dream Flawless Nude Foundation

The Maybelline Dream Flawless Nude foundation was launched last month. Since then, I've been trying out this fluid-touch foundation to see if it really 'evens and perfects the skin with complete, natural looking coverage'.

Shade 10 Ivoire
So here are my thoughts:
This is the lightest, silkiest liquid foundation that I’ve ever put on my face so I had a hard time getting used to it. First of all, the concept of a dropper is new to me, so my foundation routine took a little longer than usual to begin with (but this applicator is the reason it gives such a natural looking finish). I started off by applying it with a Real Techniques buffing brush but ended up using my fingers to give a more natural, streak-free finish.

This foundation is a medium coverage (but build-able) and is good at hiding any redness. The finish is almost matte, which is what I like. However,  I found any dry patches of my skin looked flakier and the foundation stuck to these problem areas; so it won't be replacing my Rimmel Match Perfection foundation just yet. Despite this, with a little more moisturising, I think the foundation is perfect for a more natural, light weight makeup look in spring and summer.

Find it in Boots and Superdrug for just £8.99.

Let me know your thoughts on this foundation, and enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Top 5 Drugstore Makeup Products

I have the shade 101 Classic Ivory which is a really good match. It applies perfectly to the skin and I like to use my Real Technique buffing brush to give a natural looking finish. I think this foundation is a bargain at £6.99.

I like to set my base makeup in place using Rimmel 'Stay Matte' powder. I have the shade 'Warm Beige' but there are a variety of shades including a translucent powder. I love this powder because it helps hold makeup in place all day and removes any shine from my T-zone. Also, it does not cling to any dry patches on my skin. Amazing!

Solar Powder is a two-toned bronzing powder, allowing you to either go for a subtle glow or a full on contour. Personally, I like to blend the two shades together and use it as a gentle all over bronze.

I like the MUA pencil because it comes with a brush at one end so that you can blend the product through evenly, giving a more natural look.  I like to apply it using small strokes and then brushing through. I have the shade brunette but they also have a blonde shade and a black shade. I use a clear mascara on top to set them in place. This brow product is super cheap priced at just £1!

I recently picked up the shade Picnic in the Park and Vampire Kiss when I saw the whole Tanya Burr range on offer in Superdrug. I don't normally opt for a lip gloss because I find many of them feel sticky on the lips. However, after trying these products I might be a convert. These lip glosses are super pigmented, they smell a-maz-ing (like sweeties) and they are so long lasting. Vampire Kiss is a typical autumnal deep red shade, and Picnic in the Park is a lovely pink shade, for a more natural look.

Battle of the Brows

Over the past few months I have been experimenting with different brow products so today  I'm going to tell you what I think.

The first product I tried was an eyebrow pencil. I like the MUA pencil because it comes with a brush at one end so that you can blend the product through evenly, giving a more natural look.  I like to apply it using small strokes and then brushing through. I have the shade brunette but they also do one for blondes. I use the MUA clear mascara on top to set them in place.

This is a two-in-one product with a felt tip at one end and a waxy pencil at the other. To start with I preferred to just use the wax end but now I enjoy the felt tip end because I feel it gives a natural looking finish and lasts all day. I use the felt tip end to draw little lines which look like hairs to give a fuller looking brow. I use the shade Brownie Points which is for brunettes but they also have a shade for blondes. I also use a clear mascara on top to set my brows in place.

This is a relatively new product which acts as a colour and setting agent in one. There is a range of shades; clear, blonde, mid brown and dark brown. I have 'dark brown' which is a perfect match for my brows. I really love this product because it is quick and easy (being a two-in-one product). However, I find that too much product comes off on the brush but this is easily sorted by wiping the excess before use.

Nail Polish Collection

Today I thought I would share with you my nail polish collection because it is a product I like to use every week.

Models Own:

From Left to Right: Golden Green, Pink Cocktail, Pinky Brown.

Models Own nail polishes retail at £5 each and can be found HERE. I love the look of these metallic nail polishes and they last on the nails for about 4-5 days.

Rimmel:

From Left to Right: Ruby Crush (002), Double Decker Red (030), Black Out (800), Mind The Gap - Victoria (503), Clear (740).

I really like the brushes on the Rimmel nail polishes because they are wide so you only need one swipe and you're done. Also, the pigmentation is awesome which means one coat is often enough. However, I find these nail polishes chip really easily which is a shame because otherwise they are perfect. These retail at £2.99 - £3.69 and can be found at Superdrug.

NYC:

From Left to Right: Blue Sky (320), Spring Tulip (300), Chelsea (228), Rock Muse (001), Full Metal Jacket (002).

The NYC polishes are quite thin and therefore you will definitely need to use two coats. However, there is a beautiful colour range and my favourites from my collection are Chelsea (burgundy) and Full Metal Jacket (gold). These are really affordable at just £1.79 and can be found HERE.

Barry M:

From Left to Right: Matt White (66), Bright Pink (279), Racing Green (299), Papaya (328), Prickly Pear (325), Sour Apple (327).

Barry M are well know for their beautiful polishes. They now have a range of finishes as well as a huge colour range which can all be found HERE. I love the formula of these polishes especially the Gelly ones.

So that is my nail polish collection. What is your favourite brand of nail polish? Do you have of the ones I have? Let me know in the comments.
