Battle of the Benefit Mascaras

In my May favourites post, I mentioned one of my favourites was Benefit They're Real. Since that has run out, I decided to try out the new Roller Lash mascara; and I LOVE it. Here's what I think.

This mascara is great at separating the lashes and adding both length and volume. It stays in place all day without smudging and to top it all off it is easy to remove with regular makeup remover. The wand on this mascara is a plastic one, which I initially didn't like but I have grown to enjoy it.

Before buying this mascara, I had a look online and saw many people comparing before and after use and I was very impressed. Being a fan of the They're Real mascara, I had high hopes for this product, and it did not disappoint. The wand on this is a rubber/silicon one which grips the lashes really easily. This mascara adds a whole load of length and curl to the lashes without being clumpy. I just love it.

I hope this helps. Let me know which one is your favourite, I love them both!

May Favourites

We are fast approaching the end of the month so it is time for me to share my MONTHLY FAVOURITES.

1. KREAFUNK 'aGroove' Speaker (Blue)- I picked this up in a Museum in Stockholm when I was there at Easter. The bluetooth speaker connect directly to your phone and I have used it so much while revising and doing work. I love how compact it is and easy to move around anywhere with you.

2. Spotify - Along with the speakers I have been enjoying creating and listening to playlists on Spotify. I particularly love listening to the Hozier album, James Bay's album, as well as Joe Sugg's 'Coachella 15' Playlist. I only have the free version at the moment but am thinking about upgrading. Is it worth it?

3. Daniel Wellington 'Sheffield Lady' - I got this from my grandparents for my 18th birthday back in December. I got the Rose Gold Sheffield Lady watch; it is very versatile as it is perfect for both casual and smart outfits.

4. Benefit They're Real! Mascara - I wear this mascara on a daily basis and it is only now that it is on its last legs that I have realised how much I love it. Definitely considering repurchasing it but would also like to try the Roller Lash Mascara. Which is better?

5. Nivea Fruity Shine (Watermelon) - This lip balm is great at keeping chapped lips away but also adds a sheer wash of colour and shine. It's great!

Benefit 'The Real Steal' Review

Earlier this month I picked up 'The Real Steal' set by Benefit. It contains a full size of They're Real! mascara, a travel size of the Push-Up Liner and a tester of They're Real! remover. These three products come in a set for just £19.50 which is an absolute bargain because its RRP is £24.

If you want to purchase this set, here are a few places you can find it:

They're Real! Mascara
I know I'm late on the bandwagon but this mascara is amazing! On use, it is so easy to apply adding length and volume as well as separating the lashes - everything I look for in a mascara. It stays in place all day without smudging and to top it all off it is easy to remove with regular makeup remover (I used the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water).

Would I repurchase: Yes

They're Real! Push Up Liner

I've never been able to master the art of winged eyeliner so I was excited to try this product. I had heard a mix of reviews about it so I was interested to try it for myself.

This is a gel liner but in a super handy pen form. The nib is angled and flexible but it's not easy to get the right amount of product out. Overall, I found it difficult to use and the product itself was quite dry and flaky. All in all I made a total mess of my face and had to remove it immediately. It does not come off with regular makeup remover so you definitely need to buy the 'They're Real! Remover' (a sneaky move Benefit!).

Would I repurchase: No.

They're Real! Remover
The remover worked pretty well to remove the liner from my eyes although I had to scrub it a bit, leaving my eyes quite red (a big no no).

I hope this review is useful. Let me know what you think of the They're Real! range.

Everyday Makeup Routine // School

Today I thought I'd share with you the makeup products I use on a daily basis as part of my everyday/school makeup routine.

Face:
For foundation I love Bourjois 'Healthy Mix Serum'. I picked up shade 53 (Beige Clair) which is a perfect match for my skin tone. It is easy to blend and evens out the skin tone to give it a lovely semi-matte finish. It is definitely my favourite finish in terms of foundation as it’s not overly dewy so that it looks a little bit oily on the skin, but it’s not so matte that it highlights dry patches or looks a little too powdery. I like to use one pump of the foundation as it gives medium coverage although the coverage is buildable. This foundation is £10.99 which is quite pricey for a drugstore foundation but I really love the formula. Buy it HERE.

Rimmel 'Wake Me Up' concealer is perfect for under the eyes because it is a brightening concealer. I used the applicator to swipe the product under the eyes and then blend in using my ring finger. You can buy it HERE for £5.49. There is 7ml of product in this and it lasts for a long time (I've had mine since July and it's nearly finished now - 6 months later).
For blemishes I like to use MAC 'studio finish' concealer and apply it with my fingers. The concealer is quite high coverage but does not feel cakey. I have the shade NC20 which is perfect for my skin tone. If you are unsure of what shade to get, the ladies in the MAC store are super helpful and so lovely. The concealer is quite pricey at £15 but I think it is well worth it. You can find it HERE.
I like to set my face makeup in place using Rimmel 'Stay Matte' powder. I have the shade 'Warm Beige' but they have a variety of shades which includes a translucent powder. This would allow you to set your base makeup without adding any more coverage.
Eyes:

Sometimes I like to wear a small amount of neutral eyeshadow. The 'Heaven and Earth' palette from MUA has the perfect mix of shimmery and matte neutrals and is a bargin at just £4.

For mascara I love Maybelline 'The Rocket Volum' Express' in the colour black. This mascara gives the perfect mix of length and volume to your lashes and is not clumpy. You can buy this HERE for £7.99.

I don't fill in my eyebrows but I like to just set them in place using a clear mascara. At the moment I am using this cheap one from MUA which does the job perfectly.
Lips:

To moisturise my lips I use Vaseline, this is the 'Rosy Lips' version and I love it! This is just £1.99 and can be found HERE.
I don't like to wear lipstick to school so this Revlon Lip Butter in the shade 'Juicy Papaya' is the perfect 'your lips but better' shade and is super moisturising.

So there we have it; my most used makeup products. What's your favourite everyday product? Feel free to let me know in the comments.
